These are my top 10 must have baby products.
This is my honest review and list of my must-have baby products. They are my top ten most used items and things I will forever have in my mom arsenal.
- The Snoo is one of my must haves on anyone’s list who can afford the steep price tag. We started getting consistent 6-8 hour stretches at 5 weeks old and it is AMAZING. It is was absolutely worth every penny. It gets 5 out 5 stars review. (Minus the connection issues we had, but we found some blog posts that helped with this.) Read my full Snoo review here.
- Another would be onesies that zip from the bottom. They are game changes in the way of night time diaper changes. Having the zipper start at the bottom is so helpful, because you don’t have to fully unclothe your babe.
- The Dock-a-tot was a must have with our first and second son, because we were able to keep him in a portable safe space to sleep in. It is the easiest to move bassinet/safe space for baby and can literally go on any flat surface. Sometimes we put him down in the Doc-A-Tot in the middle of the dining room table while I made dinner for my husband and son.
- Aquaphor was my go to diaper cream. I slathered those butt’s up so pee and poop would slide right off. And it doesn’t have be the Aquaphor baby brand, they’re both the same thing.
- Another coveted item is the Bumbco or as I like to call it, the Butt Spatula. This is certainly a 10 out 5 star rating. I don’t know who decided to bless us millennial parents with a tool that allows you to not have to touch your babies rear while getting your fingers all goopy with your preferred diaper cream, but thank you. I don’t know what we did to deserve it but it was a masterful invention.
- In keeping with the diaper change trend, the Windi by Frida Baby was a miraculous discovery for my very gassy second child. Yes, we ended up at the doctor because of a screaming fit so severe I thought he had to have an ear infection… but it was just gas. These had an extremely high success rate at relieving my babes gas and it was pretty instantaneous.
- When it comes to nipple relief for breastfeeding or pumping moms, it can be quite a journey. I found that there were several nipple butters I did NOT like and a couple that were ones that I would recommend to friends. My all time favorite was Motherlove nipple cream. The consistency looks and feels like what you would want to use to prep for a feeding or pump session.
- Your gift to collecting liquid gold is the Haaka. It is one of the best kept secrets if you are a nursing mom. While I don’t think there is anything less appealing than sitting with a silicone cup dangling from your breast while you are nursing on the other breast. The Haaka catches all the expressed milk that your non nursing breast releases and it helped build my supply.
- One thing I used some what consistently is The Day One Journal App. When you have a new born, it can be rather isolating and frustrating at times. When used effectively, I was able to word vomit all of my postpartum inner thoughts there, versus speaking them out loud and provoking a full postpartum meltdown. While it wasn’t a consistent occurrence, if you aren’t a crier, you may become one after giving birth for a little bit.
- The other daily used item was the Glow app. I used to track when the babes ate, slept, and changed. Some people don’t need a tracker-but I used and it made transitions between my husband and I easier.
